Statement on PEGI Notice to inform about presence of paid random items

14/04/2020

Europe’s video games industry is pleased to announce that it will include a new PEGI feature notice on video games that include in-game purchases to inform consumers if those purchases include paid random items (such as loot boxes or card packs).

“Whilst only a small percentage (20%) of games rated by PEGI include in-game purchases, it is important that we, as an industry, insure complete transparency to allow consumers, players and parents to make informed choices prior to purchase and give informed guidance to their video playing children."

Simon Little, CEO of Video Games Europe
