BIU and GAME merge into game
The two German games industry associations, BIU and GAME, have joined forces, merging under the new name ‘game – the German Games Industry Association’. The Managing Director of game is Felix Falk, who formerly held the same position at BIU. The new association represents the German games industry in all its diversity: developers, publishers and other actors such as e-sports event organisers, institutions of higher education and service providers. game is a shareholder of USK, the German organisation for the age classification of games, and the Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur, and host of the German Computer Games Awards. Through the merger, game also becomes the sponsor of gamescom, the world’s largest event for computer and video games.
Felix Falk, Managing Director of game says: ‘Today is a historic day for the German games industry as a whole. The forward-looking merger of the two associations unites the industry, enabling us to advocate jointly, and therefore even more persuasively and powerfully, for the interests of the entire German games industry.’
